How many times have we stood up for someone? When was the last time we went out of our way just so that someone else could have a life? Or when was the last time we stood up for something that we believed in passionately, even if we knew we were amongst the minority?
Â
It takes tremendous self belief and it takes a deep passion to reach out to actually stand up for someone or something. It takes an awesome amount of humility to be able to really stretch out that hand to someone else and give of ourselves, and it takes a deep rooted sense of giving to be able to do that..
Â
If we are standing up for someone, if we had had been in that person’s shoes - seen that person’s pain, loneliness, or indeed their financial bankruptcy, or their emotional status, or their sheer situation to be able to understand the state of mind of that person - we might appreciate that person’s situation better and in a deep rooted spirituality we give of ourselves and our capabilities whatever they may be to that person. On the other hand we could be very ignorant of another person’s situation and in that case we are able to give because of our deep rooted ability to empathize with that situation and in our compassion we give.
Â
It is our selves that we give of primarily and it is our passion that makes us stand for a cause.
Â
And that part of us that we give? It belongs to no one, it is not of us - it is not of our body, or our mind or anything that is remotely connected with the ‘human form’ as much as it as the reflection of a God within us. When you see the face of a true giver, you will see a depletion of his or her energy after he or she has given of her self. Why do you reckon that happens? Because if is our energy that we give and pass on so that another thrives. We have seen cases of a dying drooping plant actually stand up when energy was passed onto that plant. Reiki and Pranic healing practitioners have witnessed sicknesses being healed because of the energy they transmit. And Goodness and our selves and our energies can also be transmitted to another human being, because we have the power to transmit of our selves selflessly.
Â
This whole world would become a better place if we decide to give - sometimes we have to realize that we have lots of money, intellect, wealth and power and influence without even realizing that we are reservoirs of these gifts and it is meant to be given to those that are less fortunate than us. We are not meant to hoard it selfishly. We are meant to give. Even if it means standing up for someone or something simply showing our solidarity.
Â
In our moment of arrogance we think that we are lucky and blessed by a Superior God, without realizing that we came with nothing and we go with nothing and all that we got we got here we leave behind here (Quote from the Bhagawad Gita)
Â
Oh we mustard seeds of people, who think we are boulders, can’t we then stand up for the lesser blessed?
